Recipe: Healthy & Nourishing Festive Hot Chocolate
It's the time of year when a hot chocolate is the only thing that hits the spot when you come in from the cold 🥶 ☕
But traditional hot chocolates are loaded with sugar, and the cocoa is processed, meaning it's lost much of it's health giving properties.
And the 'diet' hot chocolate contain artificial sweeteners and other processed additives 👎
With a few tweaks, hot chocolate can be just as tasty, but also highly nourishing!
☕ Swapping to cacao powder (raw cocoa) increases the antioxidant and nutrient content
☕ Switching to unsweetened plant-based milk reduces your exposure to inflammatory hormones from dairy
☕ Switching from sugar to a natural sweetener prevents the blood sugar spike that drives fat storage and sugar cravings later on
☕ Adding cinnamon helps to support blood sugar control. Ginger is warming and great for digestion
☕ Collagen is great for the gut, joints and skin and with it being a protein, further helps to balance blood sugars!
☕ Maca is rich in nutrients that are supportive of the adrenal glands and also helps to balance hormones.
So why not get your hot chocolates to do some of the leg work on your weight loss journey?
