New research has found that Triclosan, an antibacterial agent widely used in hand soaps and personal care products could harm health. It is commonly found in mouthwashes, deodorants, clothing and toys.

It has been found to impair the ability of heart cells to contract. Furthermore, it appears to impair muscle strength, reducing grip by 18%. For individuals with heart conditions it could be a real concern.
